Christmas meets Harmattan

Harmattan kind of Christmas
Christmas meets Harmattan ampa
Koo aponkye roasting on an open fire
Spicy chicken broth wafting into your nose
?‘Afi ak) apr)’ lyrics blasting through the radio sets
And folks dressed up against the Harmattan
Everybody knows fanta and some jollof rice
Help to make the season bright
Children with their eyes all aglow
Will find a good excuse to carry out some mischief  tonight
No adult will care who lighted that ‘banger’ (knockout)
All they care is the warm ‘afihyia pa!’ handshakes and how to share the food and drinks when morning comes
And every mother’s child will hear
Uncles and aunties chatter their childhood ‘bronya’ memories
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from 1 to 92
Although it’s been said many times, in many ways
Afihyia pa! Afihyia pa!
And every mother’s child will hear
Uncles and aunties chatter their childhood ‘bronya’ memories
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from 1 to 92
Although it’s been said many times, in many ways
Afihyia pa! Afiyhia pa!

Christmas Inspiration by?

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight
They know that Santa’s on his way
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother’s child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from 1 to 92
Although it’s been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you
And every mother’s child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from 1 to 92
Although it’s been said many times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you
