Vodafone CEO & More To Speak At SMWiAccra

Vodafone CEO, Yolanda Cuba, OMG team, and other key digital personalities have thrown their weight behind Social Media Week Accra (SMWiAccra). SMWiAccra is Ghana’s first event targeted at intersection of media, marketing and technology. The one-week event from September 11 to 15 begun on Monday with a launch at the Accra Mall Food Court.

Independently organized by Echo House Ghana Limited, Ghana’s number one youth marketing agency, SMWiAccra is estimated to attract over 5,000 participants. The week covers forums, conferences, sofa sessions and masterclasses on building your business on social media.

The speakers have been selected from a distinguished base of digital influencers from varied fields. They include Kajsa Hallberg Adu, Bernard Sokpe. Jemila Abdulai, Stephen Harry-Sawyerr, Nana Asihene, Benjamin Anyan, April Reign, Team OMG, Akisi Ackah, Nana Aba Anamoah are inclusive. Others include Mic Fox, Erryn Gracey, Irene Donati, Papa Oppong, Makafui Ayimey, Debra-Jane Nelson, Caritas Naa Ayele Aryee (Tatas), Mercedes Benson, Ato Ulzen Appiah, Selasi Dzikunu, Princewill Osaro Omogiuwa.

Kajsa Hallberg Adu Ph.D is a lecturer in academic writing, leadership, and political science at Ashesi University College. She is a blogger and co-founder of BloggingGhana.org.

 

SMWiAccra

Bernard Sokpe is an astute marketing professional with a strong background in digital and marketing. He has been instrumental in innovative campaigns for global brands like Tigo, Vodafone, Tonaton.com, Unilever and Hubtel.

 

Jemila Abdulai is a bilingual freelance consultant working in Africa at the intersection of policy, digital media and creativity. She is founding editor of Circumspecte.com.

Stephen Harry-Sawyerr is currently the Digital Marketing Manager at Vodafone. He is a marketing professional, having worked with Global Media Alliance, Carat & 3rdFloor Digital, and MTN.

Nana Asihene is a creative director at NKACC, a boutique agency with a emphasis on brand, design and production. NKACC creates content for brands like Guinness, Malta Guinness, Coca Cola, Airtel, UNICEF, etc.

Benjamin Anyan is the creative custodian of over $100M in regional and local business portfolios like PZ Africa, Nescafe CWA, Nido CWA.

April Reign is the Managing Editor of Broadway Black. She is the creator of the viral hashtag #OscarSoWhite-a movement that resulted in the systemic change in the over 80-year history of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.

Team OMG is among the best content creators, influencers, creatives in Ghana. They will be sharing how it is to work in one of the most successful start-ups in Africa defined by Forbes and TechCrunch as “The Buzz Feed of Africa”.

Akisi Ackah is Head of Brand, Vodafone. She is a seasoned business and marketing professional. Akisi has more than 17 years of progressive experience. She has worked in Unilever, Diageo and Nestle in local, regional and global roles.

 

Nana Aba Anamoah is an award winning broadcast journalist with almost a decade experience in reporting, news presentation and editing. She is currently news editor at GH One and host the current affairs show ‘State of Affairs’.

 

Mic Fox is a digital nerd, consumer marketer, and music connoisseur. He is Dir. of Digital for Emmis Comms (New York). He helped with digital strategy to execute SXSW’s concert with Kanye West and Jay Z.

Erryn Gracey is brand specialist, having worked for companies like SOUL and Investec. She assists brands and agencies with developing innovative solutions for variety of campaigns through Promoted Twitter and Blue Robot.

 

Irene Donati is the Head of Strategy at OMG Digital. She doubles as a consultant on everything brand strategy on digital and social media.
