Christian Note to Self: A Beautiful Day

beautiful

Today is a beautiful day and the best time to explore positivity ahead of the week and year. As a Christian and a note lover, I’ll try and make this fast. Mark Twain puts a good measure to the idea of purposeful living aptly. “The two most important days in your life are the days you were born and the day you find out why”.

I have been reflecting a lot on what gives me fulfilment or drives me to give off my best. Like Mark Twain, I sought my own whys as a Christian, family man, son of Beatrice, PR strategist, blogger and musician. I discovered there are things I needed to give more attention to and some I had to abandon for the greater good.

Some Prayer Points: Misplaced Priorities

Let me expand on some of the things I have revamped in my life. Because of what I am going to say, let me stress that I believe in prayers paaa; in fact, prayers have worked for me and continues to work for me.

My point is; I have gotten understanding that there are some things God will automatically do for me if I heed to His word and serve Him diligently. I don’t have to lift a finger.

All I hear nowadays is Pray for:

  • Career growth

  • Advancement in education

  • Marriage

  • Child birth

  • Travel abroad

  • Visa

  • Getting more cash

  • Binding and loosing demons

I advocate that we pay more attention to the fine details of our calling as Christians. James 1:27 (ESV) says “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world”.

So I ask:

  • Who is pursuing and praying for lost souls (those who don’t know Christ)?

  • Who’s making time for the sick and the backslidden?

  • When last did you randomly pray for someone else?

  • Who is visiting the poor?

  • Who is dedicated to teaching the young ones how to read, make music, understand school lessons, etc.?

  • What have you done for God or His Church for Him to answer your prayers?

  • Who is giving a listening ear to that neighbour, friend, and family member going through hard times?

When Life Becomes Beautiful

What does a guy like me know about a beautiful life? I have had and continue to have lots of struggles keeping up with everything. It hasn’t been easy actioning on deliverables to God (ministry), family, pen business and office duties.

Let me dig deeper again.

  • What’s your true calling?

  • Your work may pay the bills but are you fulfilled?

  • You money may give you the prestige and comfort but are you fulfilled?

Luke 10:41-42

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,
42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Final words

  • Give thanks to God for everything

  • Be good to people for no reason

  • Chase after what really matters

  • Take time off to care about people and things you genuinely care about

  • Take time off to be there for those you say you love

  • Get to know your mission today, before the year ends.

  • Give thanks to God for everything (again I say)

My beautiful life story just begun. It begun the moment I understood I am closer to my mission today than I was yesterday.

Engyla Engyluv thanks so much. Since you sent me the WhatsApp reminder to do this post, I haven’t been able to sit still. Thanks for encouraging me. God bless you.

God bless us all.
